I had planned a special evening for our second official date. We were supposed to meet at the Derby Club for dinner, but when we got there, the restaurant was closed. So we jumped in my car and headed to Don Jaun's instead. The food was okay, and our waitress was the no expression type, which ended up making us laugh a lot.
After dinner, we went to play putt putt. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. It was later in the evening, maybe an hour before closing, and the only other group there was way ahead of us. The night was calm, the temperature was perfect, and there were no bugs or wind. We laughed and smiled the entire time, just enjoying each other’s company.
As we made our way to the back side of the course, we came to a beautiful little waterfall. We had just finished putting on that hole, and I knew it was the right moment. I looked into her eyes, gently placed my hand on her cheek, and kissed her.
After that, we kept playing, sneaking in a few more kisses along the way. We had the whole course to ourselves. It was quiet, peaceful, and honestly, kind of magical. When we finished, we stood in the parking lot talking and soul gazing before deciding to grab ice cream. Eventually, I brought her back to her car. We hugged, kissed, and said goodnight.
