We met for the first time on a Saturday morning at Metro Coffee downtown. Though we had only been talking for a few days, our conversations had already sparked something meaningful. Meeting in person felt both exciting and a little nerve-wracking.
After exchanging texts, we finally spotted each other and smiled. It was an easy, warm moment that set the tone for everything that followed. We grabbed our drinks and made our way to the back of the shop, settling into a green couch on a small stage with a view of the room. The setting felt just right.
What stood out most was how natural everything felt. Conversation flowed effortlessly, from careers to parenting, and even past relationships. These were topics most people would avoid on a first date, yet nothing felt forced. We laughed, made meaningful eye contact, and found comfort in simply being ourselves.
When it was time to go, we weren’t quite ready for it to end. We lingered by the car, shared a few more hugs, and left with the quiet feeling that something special had just begun.
