I was more nervous than I’d been on other dates, and I knew it was because there was something different about Lindsay. Something about her pulled me in right away. My stomach was fluttering with anticipation even before she walked through the door.
When she came in and our eyes met, her smile completely disarmed me. We hugged and instantly started talking. Then, when we turned to look at the menu, she stood close enough that our arms touched. That moment alone had my heart racing.
What really struck me was how easy it was to talk to her. We didn’t tiptoe around anything. We just talked. I loved how we could move from deep topics to lighthearted ones without missing a beat. I remember making a lot of eye contact and even sitting in silence at times, just being in the moment. It felt peaceful, not awkward.
Later, when I walked her to her car, she showed me a logo she had created for a nonprofit she was starting. I was genuinely impressed. We hugged a few more times and said goodbye, but I couldn’t stop replaying the morning in my mind. Her presence was warm and inviting. She was beautiful, funny, compassionate, and so easy to connect with. I knew I wanted to see her again.
